About the brewer
The Franziskaner-Brauerei was a German traditional brewery in Munich. The brewery was founded in 1363, making the Franziskaner-Brauerei one of the oldest companies in the world. The company merged in 1922 with the equally old Spatenbräu to form Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu, in 1996 with Löwenbräu to form the Spaten-Löwenbräu-Gruppe, which has belonged to the Anheuser-Busch InBev group since 2003. Franziskaner exists only as a registered trademark and is brewed at Löwenbräu in Munich. If you want to read more about Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu, click here.
