Beer Brewery De Koningshoeven La Trappe Nillis
When you think of a Trappist beer, you don't easily think of a non-alcoholic beer. A Trappist beer brings to mind a dark beer with fruit flavors like blackberries and figs and a spicy aroma.
Although a Trappist beer is not a style and can contain virtually any flavor up to IPA, the typical characteristics of a dark Trappist beer can be found in the La Trappe Nillis.
The bitterness combined with the caramel flavors is reminiscent of a young Dubbel, and the full sweetness adds to the complete taste experience.
Trappist beer has been brewed at Our Lady of Koningshoeven Abbey since 1884 under the supervision of the monks, and in 2021 the first alcohol-free Trappist beer saw the light of day.
