Alten Beer tasting the Dry january edition!

Welcome to the Alten Beer Tasting the Dry January edition!

Tonight we are going to taste 5 different types of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beers from different brands/breweries. Some well-known and some (for most) unknown beer brands/breweries. But before we begin, first an introduction.

Alcohol-free beer house started in October 2021 with the online sale of alcohol-free specialty beers, with the aim of selling an interesting and complete range of specialty beers, offering something for everyone. Our special beers are selected on quality and diversity, herewith we aim to offer an alternative to the already very complete but often commercial assortment of liquor stores and supermarkets.

Alcohol Free Beer House has two owners. Mohammad Moghtader (former elementary school classmate of your colleague Marco Placanico) and Robin Damen. Mohammad is an avid Rugby player and powerlifter, often concerned with living as healthy a life as possible. Alcohol and sports do not go well together, hence his interest in non-alcoholic beverages. Robin has been a lover of specialty beers for many years, therefore he has gained a broad knowledge of the diversity of specialty beers. Since 2020, he has made the choice to focus more on non-alcoholic specialty beers.

Alcohol-free beer is also called malt beer in the Netherlands. For a long time there was something of a taboo around drinking alcohol-free beer; the taste often left something to be desired. With the advent of Radlers, alcohol-free beers took off. In the Netherlands, a beer is alcohol-free when it contains less than 0.1 percent alcohol. There are beers with 0.0% and beers with a very low alcohol percentage. Within our webshop you will only find beers with less than 0.5% alcohol, also known as the international standard for alcohol-free. This is mainly due to the brewing process.

The Maisel Weisse alcohol-free is a delicious Weisse. It is a fresh wheat beer with 0.5% alcohol. Made from natural ingredients, vitamin-rich and isotonic. 40% less calories than its peers. During the brewing process, the brewers slowly removed the alcohol from the beer, preserving its characteristic flavors. Because this beer is isotonic, this beer is great for after exercise, but also for non-athletes looking for a delicious white beer.

La Trappe Trappist Nillis 0.0, the first 0.0% Trappist beer in the world. The beer has a deep brown color and contains 0% alcohol. You will taste a pleasant caramel taste combined with fresh fruit and malt. It also contains a bitter undertone. This makes it the ideal choice for the responsible drinker.

Force Majeure - Tripel

Force Majeure - Tripel

As a Belgian beer brewer, Force Majeure does not compromise on taste but does opt for 0% Alcohol. The beers are brewed in the traditional Belgian style Blond, Dubbel (brown), Tripel and Tripel Hop. This Tripel is a real tripel. A delicious fresh and fruity triple that you should definitely have drunk.

Fun fact(s): Idea arose because the owner (triathlete) found it difficult to combine alcohol with sports. Their Tripel is the first alcohol-free tripel in the world. Also, force majeure zis still the only one in Belgium that focuses solely on alcohol-free beers.
