About the brewer
Kompel Brewery was founded in 2015 in Maasmechelen as a tribute to the miners who came from far and wide and, through their hard work and the coal they mined, brought prosperity to all Belgians.
The first litres of Kompel beer flowed from the tanks at Anders Brewery! Kompel Bovengronds was an instant success, and six months later, Kompel Ondergronds was launched.
During the summer of 2015, the move was made to De Dool Castle Brewery in Houthalen-Helchteren. During this period, the Kompel Prion Des Fleurs and Kompel Christmas beers were launched.
Since 2019, the beers have been brewed on a larger scale at the Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi. In March 2020, the range was expanded to include a delicious, refreshing tripel, Kompel L’Or Noir.
