About the brewer

In Hugel is the brewing firm name of Koen Hugelier. After training in pharmaceutical and biological techniques and medical laboratory technology, Koen Hugelier worked for almost ten years at the University of Ghent on various scientific studies. In 2009, he became a certified zythologist and thus caught the brewing bug.

Because Koen could use a lot of knowledge from his education, it was pretty easy to delve into the secrets of brewing. After some hobby brewing, Koen was ready to brew one of his beers in a "big" brewery in 2010. To read more of Hugel's story, click here.
