Unlike other beers, a special type of yeast is used in the production of Chouffe alcohol-free, which prevents sugars from being converted into alcohol during the fermentation process and keeps the alcohol content below 0.4%.

We often get that question. The presence of that very small amount of alcohol is peculiar to the manufacturing process of fermented beverages. In fact, even smoothies or juices made from very ripe fruit can contain traces of alcohol. Did you know that some breads even contain more than 1% alcohol?

In Belgian legislation, all beers containing less than 0.5% alcohol are considered alcohol-free. Chouffe Alcohol Free contains a maximum of 0.4% alcohol, which is why we can call this Chouffe an alcohol-free beer.
