Nøgne Ø - Julefri
Nøgne Ø from Norway is a brewery that has a wide range of beers and has now released their 5th non-alcoholic beer. This time a winter or Christmas beer.
The smell of the Julefri (Norwegian for Christmas vacation) is immediately reminiscent of a stew because of the cloves but also cinnamon, star anise and ginger. Although the aroma can be a bit intense, the taste is balanced and more subtle. With a taste of gingerbread, speculoos and Christmas cake, it goes very well with cold winter nights or a Christmas brunch!
The brewery is named after the barren islands off the coast where the brewery is located. Now the word ø (island) is also a nod to the Norwegian word øl meaning beer, perhaps known from the Norwegian brewery To Øl which stands for "two beers.
