About the brewer

A small brewery began brewing beer according to the German Reinheitsgebot in 1824. More than 200 years later, one of Europe's most modern private breweries has been built on this site: Brauerei C&A VELTINS GmbH.

The brewery has been run by the Veltins family for five generations with passion and craftsmanship. They are committed to the future through investment, innovation, and a strong entrepreneurial vision. Combining the old and the new is their vision. Tradition is important, which is why the beers have been brewed for years using only the highest quality ingredients – malt, hops, yeast, and the purest spring water from the region – in strict accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516. The water, which originates from springs in the nature reserve around Grevenstein, is exceptionally soft.
