About the brewer

Kompaan had humble beginnings, with just a few recipes and a lot of enthusiasm. The brewery was founded by Jeroen and Jasper, two school friends who had known each other for some time. They shared joie de vivre and were ready to put The Hague on the craft beer map. The name of the brewery is based on this friendship, two companions drinking together. As a modern, young brewery making contemporary, exciting beers, the name is spelled "kompaan" rather than "compaen" in modern Dutch. Starting in 2010, Jeroen and Jasper began brewing on their own, and it took two years for their first beer, now called the Ally, to be born. Learn more about the history of Kompaan here.
