About the brewer

Kompaan had a modest beginning, with only a few recipes and a lot of enthusiasm. The brewery was founded by Jeroen and Jasper, two school friends who had known each other for some time. They shared the joy of life and were ready to put The Hague on the craft beer map. The name of the brewery is based on this friendship, two companions drinking together. As a modern, young brewery that makes contemporary, exciting beers, the name is spelled in modern Dutch as "kompaan", and not as "compaen". From 2010 Jeroen and Jasper started brewing on their own and it took two years before their first beer, now called the Bondgenoot, was born. Learn more about the history of Kompaan here.
